01/29/2000 Archived Entry: "On Vacation"

I’m off to Florida for one week of vacation.

Visiting Miami, Palm Beach, and Fort Meyers. Seeing friends all along the way.

Would you believe, I’ve never been to the state of Florida? My mother used to say, “You were conceived there. That’s enough.” But now, if only to stop everyone from groaning when I say I haven’t been, and because I must be genetically programmed to go, I’m flying off to the palm trees and humidity.

I’ll give you all a report on my eating as soon as I get back.
