Dear Friends,

You may have noticed a lapse in The Maven’s Diary over the past month. Well – to kvetch – I can’t do everything. And along with my assistant, Sean Brady, and webmaster, Ben McCullough, I have been busy updating www.thefoodmaven.com. You can’t feed the monster while performing surgery on it.

Now the site has a fresh look, a more dynamic look, and there is a new section, Cook At Seliano, that describes my new venture (I should say adventure): cooking classes and culinary vacations in Italy, just south of the Amalfi Coast, on a farm called Tenuta Seliano. This new website section gives you lots of information and photos. With this new school, I’ll be able to explore the culture and food of Naples and Salerno (Campania) with 14 to 16 of you every season.

We’re now back in business posting recipes, wine buys, and kitchen tips in The Maven’s Diary. Continue to check it regularly.
