11/15/2002 Archived Entry: ""Food Talk" Music"
I know how much many of you enjoy the music on “Food Talk” because you tell me so. Indeed, some days I wish I was a full-fledged disc jockey and could play the tunes with their food lyrics in their entirety. That’s not possible, but I have considered putting together a compilation CD. Getting the rights to some of the recordings is difficult and expensive, however.
Bob Harned to the rescue! Bob, who is a cabaret singer, has acquired the rights to record quite a few songs and you hear him singing these on “Food Talk” nearly every day. That’s Bob crooning “Scotch And Soda” and “Black Coffee,” among others. Now Bob has issued a CD of all the songs you hear him singing on my program. Besides those two, the disc, which Bob calls “Eat, Drink, and Be Singing,” features: You Go To My Head Vodka Let’s Have Another Cup O’ Coffee The Frim Fram Sauce If I Knew You Were Coming I’d’ve Baked A Cake Candlelight And Wine Mangos Yes, We Have No Bananas You’ll be interested to know that “Candlelight and Wine” was written by Bob’s late father, Alfred Marion Harned, who was a composer and big band arranger, and the founder of Pink And Blue Music Publishing Company, which Bob now runs. The price of Bob’s CD is $12, plus $3 for tax, postage, and handling. The grand total is $15. It would make a great Chanukah or Christmas present. Remember, a CD is just the right size for a stocking stuffer. To order, send a personal check or money order (no credit cards) made out to Pink And Blue Music Publishing Company for $15 to: Pink And Blue Music Publishing Company c/o Bob Harned 25 Plaza Street West, Suite 2C Brooklyn, NY 11217-3946 You cannot buy Bob’s CD in a store. It is only available directly from his publishing company. And do make sure to enclose the address to which the CD should be sent.
