I keep forgetting to tell you all that Arthur Schwartz’s New York City Food has gotten a great review by Irene Sax on on the website called Epicurious. Epicurious, besides having its own, original editorial, such as this review (now archived), features recipes that appear in the Condé Nast magazines, including Gourmet and Bon Appetit. Many of you are familiar with Irene because she used to be the food editor of Newsday, and currently reviews inexpensive restaurants for the New York Daily News.
On another front, remember that my new program on WWRL/ AM1600 is Tuesdays at 11 a.m., then rebroadcast at 11 p.m. If the signal does not reach your radio, try listening on the computer. Go to WWRL1600.com and click on "live webcast." Personal Appearances I know, I know, I haven’t updated the personal appearance schedule on the site. The truth is, I am slowing down this spring. I don’t have much to list. However, there is still room this Wednesday, March 9, when I do my slide show for the Culinary Historians of New York at the Mount Vernon Hotel Museum, 421 E. 61st St. (between First and York). It’s at 6:30 p.m. and you can come hungry. There will be some wonderful New York snacks and drink, then my program. Admission is by advance reservation only. The cost is $30 a person ($25 for members). Call Linda Pelaccio at 212-334-1061.
